Founded in 2016 by Kent Carlson, Steve Schwanke, and Tom Shaver, IDP leverages decades of expertise in the Twin Cities and national commercial real estate markets. With a broad range of experience in multifamily, industrial, and office sectors, IDP is well-equipped to tackle a wide range of complex challenges. Following Kent’s retirement, Anne Behrendt and Ryan Johnson, owners of Doran Companies, joined IDP, and the vision alignment between the two teams became evident. Doran Companies’ extensive track record in multifamily development and its robust, vertically integrated infrastructure complement IDP’s capabilities. While collaboration on projects is not stipulated, we look forward to working with Doran on future projects. IDP remains committed to assembling the most skilled project teams to excel in the industrial and multifamily sectors.

Tom Shaver

As Managing Partner at Inland Development Partners, Tom provides executive leadership and strategic insight, guiding both clients and communities through complex real estate challenges. With a strong background in portfolio management, he plays a key role in shaping the firm’s direction and advises on acquisitions, development, financing, and entitlements, driving successful outcomes for projects.

Steve Schwanke

As a Partner at Inland Development Partners, Steve offers expertise in land development, redevelopment, and site selection. His extensive experience allows him to deliver valuable guidance on large-scale development and redevelopment opportunities. Steve specializes in land planning, entitlements, zoning, and master planning for commercial and mixed-use projects.
